Dr. Sabrina Chandra is a pediatric dentist at Smile Arc Pediatric Dentistry in San Diego who has a rare talent for putting children at ease. Drawing on her own memories of being a nervous patient, she connects with kids on their level, turning anxiety into curiosity. Families across 4S Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, and North County appreciate her calm, friendly approach and her belief in treating the whole child, not just the teeth.
Meet Dr. Sabrina
Dr. Sabrina’s story began as a global citizen, growing up in vibrant cities including Singapore, London, and Dubai. That upbringing gave her a love of connecting with people, exploring cultures, and, she will happily admit, savoring local food everywhere she goes. She discovered her calling working with children, from teaching kindergarteners piano to mentoring high schoolers, and realized that a career dedicated to kids’ growth and well-being would bring her the greatest fulfillment.
Education and Training
Dr. Sabrina moved to the United States to study molecular and cellular biology at Johns Hopkins University, then attended the University of Pennsylvania for dental school, where she found her true home during her pediatric rotations. Her dedication did not go unnoticed: faculty selected her for the Community Oral Health Honors program and the Vulnerable Populations Honors clinic, where she cared for at-risk patients, including families seeking asylum and individuals escaping difficult circumstances. Grateful for the privilege of serving society’s most vulnerable, she chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry at the University of Rochester so she could provide expert care for all children.
Her Approach to Patient Care
Dr. Sabrina believes in treating the whole child, and she prioritizes education about oral health for both her patients and their families. She loves talking with kids about their teeth and the foods they love to chew, and she is always eager to hear about a patient’s favorite meal. Whether your child is here for a first visit, a routine cleaning and checkup, or care that calls for extra patience, she creates a comfortable, reassuring experience built on trust.
Beyond the Office
After completing her training, Dr. Sabrina traded her snow boots for flip-flops and moved to sunny San Diego, where she has thrived ever since. When she is not creating healthy, happy smiles, she enjoys running, hiking, and cooking. True to her love of food, she cherishes exploring local farmers’ markets and San Diego’s booming vegan food scene with her husband.
